Not What it Looks Like I Swear!

Jolly Bean has this old suitcase that he adores. He sits in it out in the garage, and stores his toys and bones in it. Son #1 decided to take him for a ride around the house, and omg he LOVES it! Ever since the first ride, he gets soooooo excited that he gets to roll through the house without using his paws. He looks so pitiful in the pics but I promise it is all voluntary.
Valentina redecorated the window in front of my knitting area, too. She's posed herself in the top basket and wants to know what all the fuss is about with pugs in suitcases.

Cotlin Review

Yesterday Mini Purl went to the vet for her re-check. Little loaf of bread has gained a pound! Doc says it's her thyroid and she will feel even better on thyroid meds. Also we did xrays and her lungs are totally cleared of infection, doc said she's a totally different dog and that we saved her life. I was glad to hear it! Now she's scheduled for dental on Tuesday which means pulling her rotten teeth. Poor girlie.
In yarn news, I got a skein of Knitpicks Cotlin in blackberry and used some of it to whip out a Terry Pratchett Inspired Handkerchief thingey. I LOVE this yarn. It is soft yet strong, no splitting, smooth, and the blackberry color is like a deep dark purple. Fabulous. The pattern was a fun fast knit too, and would not look so crooked except Easter was in my lap (as usual) and leaped off at one point jerking all my stitches off the needles. Ya. So it's crooked. Now I want to get a crapton more of this exact color and make a summer tank or something. I'm also doing my first toe-up sock pattern and man, it is SO much more fun than cuff-down!

The New Kid

Well, these sweet ladies rescued this little girl from a kill shelter and brought her to me today. They were calling her Lilly, but I hope they won't mind us changing her one-day name to Minnie Pearl. You can't really tell from her pics but she's a teeny little thing! Nine years old. Very smart. Jolly is just, omg, beside himself in love with her. She's fostered through Mid-Atlantic pug rescue. They are terrific.
In that picture, Pearl is sleeping on the couch and Jolly is protectively snoozing with one paw on her. Awwwwww!

Headless Sock Monkey

Yeah, I can't sew worth a damn but this page makes it so easy a cavegirl could do it.

Gramma sent me this hilarious wig, which I can't decide if I look more like a roller derby queen or a cartoon girl from the Flintstones. Either way I wish I was a man because this wig would be drag queen-a-licious!! Also, some generous lovely Meowing person mailed me a crap-ton of Easter goodies, pictured here with the half-sewn sock monkey. I love my overseas candy fairies! XOX

PS: Tomorrow we are getting a new foster pug, a little black girl pug, dumped at a kill shelter because "she's old". Stay tuned!

More silliness

Here are some cute pictures. One is of Lizabee and her fambly, including the famous "Art" madman Totoro. We have the best picture of Grandpa, LuLu's sweetie pie puglet trying to cheer me up. Its working, Grandpa! Also the scarf I just finished for TS Group 40 for Tom. The back of the horrible intarsia hat has a secret pocket, and you can see the cat peeping out.

FREAKING FINALLY!!!!!

Here are a few pics of our move to Asheville. As you can see, Boots did most of the driving. We had some trouble getting hooked back into civilization (translation: two weeks with five crazed dogs and three little boys no tv and no internet) EEKS!!!
So basically I heaved boxes around and made LOTS of STUFF. I want to show the stuff but I feel retarded about uploading pics at the moment. However, most exciting news is our ravelry puglovers' swap! First I am almost done shopping for my secret buddy person, I want to add a doggie toy to her package though. I had a hard time choosing the perfect yarn because I went into Purl's in Asheville for knit night (yes adventures abound here) and they had sooooo much yummy color. I ended up splurging on some pretty yarn in a combination of her favorite colors. Can't say much more yet because its not sent yet! I also added a bunch of lil chachkas (stuff) like beads and such, of same colors for craft embellishments, and I made her a square in her fave color. So today I'm waiting on the cable guy alll day...and we got a package! My swap stuff!!! YAY!!! And boy it is dreamy too. She was so sweet, she put a little note in it about how she made me a crochet sock monkey bookmark, isnt that cute?! And I got a great new book of hat patterrns to make, which I am already looking at one for son #2, and three skeins of gorgeous lavendar yarn, just really so luscious!!! Must post pics! AND Bootsie got a squeaky toy which he howled his pleasure (seriously he talks to squeaky toys) and a whole box of the Mr Pugsy treats which lol all of the dogs spit right out since they are healthy snacks and my crew is spoiled rotten on human food. I love swaps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH RAINEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hubby says this is why dogs kill their owners

I adapted the sock monkey hat pattern from the "Happy Hooker" and made a leetle cap for Bootsie. I trained him to wear it by pairing it with treats...
