Green Beans and GOAT CHEESE?!
My friend LULU sent Jolly a package the other day with the cutest little drawing on it! Now he has a tiny tent to pee in, apparently.
We had a low key Thanksgiving, went to a church dinner at noon which was mostly normal except for two notable exceptions: AWESOME homemade apple pie made by Lizabee's hubby Rik, and a frightening dish that I was so scared of I took a picture of it.
Afterwards I slept with Jolly on my face then spent Thanksgiving at hospice. We had ice cream. It was a really nice night.

Among other lovely wonderful packages both from Santa and Hreow in Scotland, my sweet friend monkijan sent Jolly his first gifted toy! Now Jan I do tease you for your cute ravetar the squirrel, but how could you possibly know that our yard is the squirrel mecca of North Carolina and that Jolly's new obsession is watching them out of the big window?! Now he haz somehow hunted and caught his very own squeaking one! Thank you so much!

Pug Alert
Jolly is getting used o his new home- today he was chewing on a shoe and we told him no of course, so he waited till we were eating dinner, grabbed the shoe and ran like hell across the house.
I've also gotten word of a four year old baby girl pug in Georgia who's family suddenly decided that three dogs was too many. Her name is Easter and I'm going to pick her up this weekend after Thanksgiving. My intention is to foster her till we can find a good family for her. Hopefully I won't get totally attached. (right)

Whimsy and Eyebrows
For those of you unfamiliar with Son #1, here is a pretty good snapshot of his delightful personality...
I gave him a toy catalog yesterday to circle things that he might be interested in obtaining for Christmas.
Awhile later, he casually handed it back and said "Mama will you look at the catalog?" about ninety times.
Finally I looked at it. No longer a toy catalog, first I thought "my goodness are the children cartoons? From Kazistan? Monobrows are in?" then I saw the pony smoking a cigar. Hmmmm, I don't think JC Penny could get away with that, even in North Carolina.
I turned back to the front cover, where he had crossed out the word "Toy" and substituted "eyebrow".
Woot! The Eyebrow Catalog! Complete with Scary kids in expensive vehicles and smoking ponies!
I just love my kids.

Obsessive pug thoughts
Just to report: Jolly visited the vet today and made friends with another black puggy girl named Violet. He weighs 12.8 pounds! He is all healthy and has had his last set of shots, dewormer, heartworm prevention and flea prevention. Also I had him microchipped. So if you are stalking him you can forget it. He only does sleepovers with his fairy pugmother or Grandpa.
We set a date after Christmas to remove his manhood (shhhhh don't tell him!) and she wants to know if I want her to do plastic surgery to enlarge his tiny smooshed nostrils. I'm not sure and I need advice on that. He will breathe better, but then again its surgery! Opinions?
For those of you bored to death by now, I offer the above image. Enjoy. And whoever mailed me a cd of christmas music (?) Thank you. ???? Im wondering did I click something on Amazon by accident. And if so, what did I accidentally not order for my kids for Christmas.

Thoughtful Morning
We are having bitey lessons today, as Jolly does the typical puppy barracuda face attack and Rose patiently allows him to chew on her face with an occaisonal corrective growl or show of impressive fangs.
It has gotten so cold overnight that all of the backyard trees have drooped and shriveled, and all of a sudden we can see the mountains that surround our valley here.
I'm wondering if I should wait to call my friend Mary, if it's too early to intrude. Today is a big day for her with a surgery consult and news about her illness. I saw a UU article this morning and I just want to pass on the title: HANG ON. Sometimes that's all we can do.

Early Christmas for PuggerHugger
Twice in one week I am tearful over the generosity of my Ravelry friends. This time I need to post a huge THANK YOU to DEBKNITSPINS/AKA Debbie for the fantatic SOAB swap package! I've been following these threads for weeks, and enjoying the silliness. I always tend to forget that I'm supposed to GET a package, I'm so impatient for my person to receive theirs. I had already decided that its just the thought that counts and I was just kinda hoping to get some small handmade thing. WOW. Ok I took so many pictures Im not sure I can load them all, so I'll describe: 1. A very sweet letter describing everything including thoughtful comments as to how she came up with recipe ideas for my family, and kind thoughts about the pugs, and even 75 cents which is so hilarious and Im so sorry about that! She also ays she hoped I didnt mind another scarf because Im into TS group, but I plan to make all the TS scarves into a blanket or wall art, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this beautiful scarf made from her own Design! i need to get a better picture of the cool shape of it. It even has beads! She sent Peppermint hot coco (my fave) an adorable santa mug, doggie treats! Two beautiful hanks of handspun yarn in my fave colors purple n orange! Two ornaments, a Santa and a lil candycane one that really struck home with me, matching santa kitchen towels, a bag chock full of jellbeans and chocolate (yay!!!) a funny funny nun card (holy cow) LOL, yummy new chicken recipes! santa kitteh postits, hilarious! TWO skeins of knitpicks! Which Im excited I've wanted to try it for awhile, Also last but so not least, three THREE washcloths- a ballband one (is it hard? Ive heard of these) one is a Superman S in pink! And one, orange, with a paw. I am just so touched!!!! And I cant get over the scarf. Just so beautiful. Thank you so much, DEB!!!!

One more day...
I feel bittersweet. I have several friends that are either seriously ill or having those scary tumor tests right now, and I want to send my prayers to join with the others going out for these lovely women. Robyn, Mary, Brenda you are all in my thoughts.
I sent Bootsie's sock monkey hat to Grandpa and here are the cutest pictures of him wearing it. If that doesnt bring a smile I'm not sure what will!
Tomorrow is the big adoption day and I have already been shoping for puppy toys. Notice the tiny sheep.

So much happening
Update...there is so much happening in my world here its hard to keep up! I can't begin to thank all of you guys enough for all of your kind loving thoughts and prayers both for Bootsie's safe return and for my sorrow and trying to comfort me. Bootsie is truly gone, but at least I know that he is not suffering in the cold, because whoever took him must have wanted him awful bad. Right?
Next order of business is getting my friend Lizabee's handy hubby to help me find materials and build a pug-proof fence. I leash walk but I still would like any new baby to be able to safely play in our huge yard, yes?
Speaking of new baby, you might think Im replacing Boots but that will never happen. Still, Im definately a pug person and I feel empty and sad without (at least) one pug. My friend Lulu, who has darling Grandpa, has had wonderful fundraising ideas that we have been discussin to try to get funds for a rescue pug, then, you'll never believe this but another friend who starts with a P, I dont know if she wants to be anonymous or not yet, anyway, she has offered to totally pay for a new baby for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P, you know who you are: all my love, and a very very lovely hand-knitted something is what i offer in return. And eternal thanks and oh, lots of pug kisses. You can be godmother, too.
Also, huge long post I know, you all asked for a hospice update: My little patient is not doing well, as to be expected of course, and has been asking for me quite a bit lately. I made her horrible crocheted socks that were too small that I will never do again, back to knitted socks but Im afraid she will die before I get them knitted. Anyway yesterday she said that if she made it through the night she wanted to be admitted to hospice center so I called the nurse, they did an assessment and she's being moved today. last night I went back to see her, and she asked me "is medicaid paying you enough?" I said "No, honey, I'm a volunteer" and she just looked at me so funny for a minute then she says "You mean, you are coming to see me just to visit me?"
The world is a beautiful, beautiful place.

More silliness
Here are some cute pictures. One is of Lizabee and her fambly, including the famous "Art" madman Totoro. We have the best picture of Grandpa, LuLu's sweetie pie puglet trying to cheer me up. Its working, Grandpa! Also the scarf I just finished for TS Group 40 for Tom. The back of the horrible intarsia hat has a secret pocket, and you can see the cat peeping out.

No he's still gone
My baby is still missing. I dreamed that he came home and I was cuddling him, but we got a phone call and we are almost positive that he was hit by a car early Tuesday morning on Sweeten Creek Road. Thanks to everyone, especially my wonderful Raveler friends, for your support and concern. I will continue to look for him and pray for his safe return. Other than that, as I swing from tears to clarity, I think I'll just blog about other stuff while I'm in the mood to do so.
Last night was Halloween and I stayed home just in case Bootsie came back. We had no trick or treaters because apparently there is a very generous church close by and hubby took the kids, including Son #1's best buddy visiting from GA. They had fun (translation: got lots of candy). I worked on Brenda's Canadian flag!
Also pictured is the only scary Halloween picture that I took, the freking dust rhino that I extracted from under our bed this morning. Now you know why we call them dust RHINOS.
